Where Does Strategy Lie in Games of Chance?

Strategy is best employed if the activity or business at hand grants you a lot to control in any situation. If the activity that we part-take in lends itself more to randomness rather than reason, will it still be applicable?
Relying on luck alone isn’t very wise. That’s why the best players rely more on strategy, and consider that there is really not much magic in luck. Strategy in playing online casino games can be extremely productive, considering the game gives you hold of more than just your bet. This is generally true of card games.
Video poker, for example, is one of the most popular games in online casino sites where strategy plays an important role. There is an element of chance in the game, as with every casino game, but the cards you have are in your control. As the player is playing against computer software, there is no room for error in whatever move it makes. Whereas novice human players could occasionally make a wrong move that could significantly raise your edge, you are playing against the machine. Knowing what cards to keep in hand and discard is evident as strategy.
Almost every game has some strategy that can benefit the player. Web sites with articles on online casino gaming absolutely overflow with them. Gamblers who have made it second nature to blog (next to gambling) are now sharing their wisdom and it really isn’t too hard to find gambling columnists and ask questions.

But how does strategy fare in games that don’t let you control anything other than your wager or a set of bets?
Slots is constantly viewed as the quintessential casino game of luck. Quite rightly so, as there is no real pattern in reels and symbols, there is no hidden meaning that lie in between like lines of a poem. Yet it is so simple to play and since odds are that sooner or later you’ll be having a winning streak makes it appealing for anybody curious to test their luck. Luck, but not strategy.
Keno, where every article on it says that the house edge is high, has indeed, almost no practical strategy on the game itself that you can use. And as a variation of a lottery game, it is really nothing short of a pure gamble, with only luck, if you believe in it, to depend on.
Perhaps the only real strategy is to know the game you’ll be playing and determine whether you will lose too much of what you have in playing it.
