How Keno Works and How Much Do We Have to Work to Hit

While less popular than the iconic than a slot machine, or less popular than poker or the regular lottery game, Keno does provide a new alternative for players who want to try out other games of chance. Sources say Keno was derived from Latin word quini for five and the French word quine for five winning numbers. Others even recall the popular yet apocryphal tale that it started in China and that it helped raise funds for the eventual creation of the Great Wall of China.
The traditional 80 Keno, a lottery-based game, is one of the easiest and most profitable games for lottery category. It is played using a field of numbers from 1 – 80.
You can select up to 10 numbers in that field. The lottery randomly chooses 20 winning numbers from 1 and 80 for each game of Keno. You win based on how many winning numbers you match. The rules, which are very simple, are as follows: First, you determine your spot. Spot is how many numbers you want to match from 1 to 10 only. Second, enter how much is your wager. Third, enter the numbers you want to match. You can only enter unique numbers from 1 to 80. Fourth, 20 random numbers will be generated and the number of matches will garner you a prize multiplier. Prize multipliers are multiplied to your wager and increase the amount you earn. You get a hit when one of the numbers you entered matches those that are generated And fifth, the prize multipliers are displayed at a Keno Payout chart.
There are variants of Keno now, some with added graphical features for online casino software or video Keno. The rules are still very much the same. It does not look like much effort as most casino games go. All you really do is pick a spot and enter the numbers of your choice, but the probability of scoring a hit is pretty low. The chances of scoring at least one may go higher as you include more spots, but the payout decreases for each number. Rarely, especially in the highest spot, do you get all matches. The numbers are a ratio of one to numbers that easily go astronomical as Spots increases.
Plenty of mathematical analyses have been done to determine the odds of actually winning all matches in the Keno game. What they all basically say is that while Keno provides some great pastime, it might not be worth so much of a big wager. This can be one reason why it isn’t as well accepted by the gaming public as other games, but as a game of chance, odds are not completely against the player.
