How To Play Roulette

There are totally 37 numbers in the roulette wheel. Regardless of whether the wheel is American or European, the wheel is going to have numbers 1 to 36. If it is a single zero roulette (European) then along with numbers 1 to 36, there will be a pocket for the number 0. If it is a double zero roulette (American) then along with numbers 1 to 36, there will be a pocket for the numbers 0 and a 00.

The method to play roulette is pretty simple:

  • The roulette table layout will have all the numbers in the wheel marked in there. Some boxes are marked for inside bets and some boxes are marked for outside bets.
  • The player places the chips there in the table layout on the number in which they wish to make the bets.
  • They click on the spin button.
  • The wheel spins.
  • The number on which the ball lands up is the winning number and if the player has bet on the number the payoffs are dispensed accordingly.

Understanding the roulette table layout is very important:

  • The 36 numbers are arranged in 3 columns. There are 12 numbers in each column.
  • The numbers are arranged in an order.
  • The color of the number is marked in the color like how it is marked in the wheel as red or black.
  • Inside bets are placed inside the numbers or in the lines joining the boundaries of the numbers.
  • Outside bets are placed in the boxes that have marks that state the kind of outside bets in the boundary of the numbers.
In bets that cover more than one number you win even if one of the numbers show up in the wheel.

Here is a summary of the inside bets:
